Please note that your policy will be underwritten by the insurer noted in the policy wording.

  1. Cover

CSurance will cover your mobile Device in the event of:

  • Loss
  • Theft
  • Accidental damage

Should the mobile Device be Lost or Stolen or Damaged and the claim is valid, the Insurer will put you back to the same position you were prior to the Loss;

Your Insurance premium will be based on the value of your mobile device at the point of acceptance of cover – please refer to your policy terms and conditions;

Please take note of the exclusions section in your policy. However we would like to highlight the following: 

Specific conditions of Mobile Equipment cover

  • Conditions related to the Mobile Equipment
  • The Mobile Equipment must be registered on the Cell C network.
  • The number on the SIM card must match the IMEI number that was recorded at the time the policy was issued.
  • The IMEI number on the Mobile Equipment must match the IMEI number that is recorded on the schedule of insurance.
  • The Mobile Equipment must have been used to make or receive a call, or to send or receive an SMS in conjunction with the cellular number that was provided before cover will be in force.

You must take all reasonable precautions to prevent Loss, Theft, or Damage to your Device;

  1. There is an excess payable by you for each claim – please refer to your policy terms and conditions;

 

  1. Claims Procedure:

If the insured Device is Lost, Stolen or Damaged You must report the claim to the Administrator as soon as possible after discovery of the Loss, and within 30 (thirty) days of the claim event occurring.

In the event that the Device is Stolen or Lost You MUST:

  • Report this incident to the South African Police Services and obtain a case number; (within 48 hours of the incident occurring);
  • Blacklist the Device and block the listed SIM immediately. You must obtain an ITC reference number;
  • Provide a copy of your ID

  2. Worldwide Advisory Services is the Administrator of the policy;

  1. What Device will be covered?

Your contract mobile Device received with a new contract or the upgrade of your Subscriber Agreement.

  1. What is covered?

Any sudden and unforeseen event that leads to the Theft/Loss or Damage to your mobile Device.

  1. What is NOT covered:

In Summary. See below points. Refer to Section 1.1.4 of policy wording for full exclusions.

1: Any Loss or Damage from wear and tear, maintenance, depreciation, deterioration or other gradually operating causes;
2: Any Loss or Damage from change in temperature or humidity, the action of light or climatic or atmospheric conditions unless caused by storm, wind, water, hail or snow;.
3: Theft from an unattended vehicle
4: Any loss or damage caused by electronic viruses
5: Loss, damage or theft that occurred before the policy started.
6. A manufacturing defect (which is normally covered by the manufacturer’s warranty).

  1. What is my monthly premium?

Please refer to the Policy Schedule.

  1. How is my monthly premium paid?

Your monthly mobile Device Insurance premium will be billed together with your Cell C monthly subscription bill as a value added service.

  1. What happens when I don’t pay my monthly Cell C subscription?

Should your Cell C subscription contract not be paid, your premium will not be paid and you will not be covered for your mobile Device as your Insurance premium is always paid in advance and not arrears.

  1. Is there an excess?

Yes – please refer to the Policy Wording.

  1. Who do I contact if I want to claim?

  1. How do I cancel the Insurance?
